1. Book early
Your hair should not be a last-minute consideration. Remember that your hairstyle can make or break a look.

You’ll want to really explore the different styles that you can achieve, according to your overall concept, your dress, the height of your shoes etc; everything needs to be taken into account. Therefore book your appointment early, try out several options and practise two or three times before the big day.  

You’ll also want to discuss with your stylist your colour, the length of your hair and the condition of your hair. Ask them to develop a programme for you which will mean that your hair is at the ideal length and in the peak of its condition for your ‘do’s requirements. Also consider your colour cycle and synchronise your cut and colour appointments so that it looks good fresh and healthy on the day.

2. Be honest
Whilst your hair is an important factor, you don’t want it to be something that adds extra concern to your big day – there is enough to bother yourself with!

Confide in your stylist and be honest with them about what you really want and what makes you feel happiest. The last thing you want is to be uncomfortable with your look when you should be enjoying the special occasion. Remember less is sometimes more!

3. Practial matters
Firstly, try not to choose a veil that is too heavy otherwise you may find that your carefully crafted hairstyle will be flat by the time you get to the reception. 

Secondly, if you are having a veil, tiara or some other hair accessory, make sure that your stylist is aware of the mechanics of the accessory as they may have to create the style around it. 

Thirdly, avoid a ‘do that involves too much hair in the front.  Bear in mind that if your face is covered with a sweeping fringe or wispy curls, it will be obscured for your photographs.
